A Word About Our Banners

We wish to extend a special thank you to Sandy Edstrom.  She was commissioned to design and make the banners
hanging in the front of our sanctuary this anniversary weekend.  Below are a few words from Sandy:

Congratulations on reaching such an exciting milestone in your church’s life!  It is a pleasure for me to be requested to
join in your celebration with the creation of this set of banners.

Walking through your hall of history last fall, I was struck, once again, by those who have gone before to make a place for
us, and further exhilarated by the way God brought your three churches together and has led you all the way. And then,
reading Mary Almer’s article for the Covenant Companion, God showed me there was no way that the banners could lift up
anything other than the way He has drawn you together to do ministry and has drawn you into ministry opportunities
whereby you can glorify Him, our supreme responsibility as His followers.  God led me to Rick Carlson’s hymn, #512,
“Come, Celebrate the Presence of the Lord” in The Covenant Hymnal, A Worship Book.

My thanks to my husband, Art, for being a super helper, and to Pam, our daughter, for joining me in the creation of these
banners.

As you move forward, from Romans 15:   5May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity
among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, 6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ. 13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with
hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
